Sometimes dental emergencies and oral injuries occur, whether we like it or not. These times can be quite scary and stressful. However, they don’t have to be. If you’re prepared now, these situations won’t be as bad as they could be. So, to help you prepare, our dentist, Dr. Powell, encourages you to put specific things in your first-aid kit, like:

-Floss: Floss can help you remove stubborn objects from your teeth and smile. Sometimes even foreign objects can get stuck in the gums. With help from the floss, you’ll be able to remove the object and relieve the pressure that is causing the discomfort.

-Save-a-Tooth® System: This product can help you if you ever knock a tooth out of your mouth. If you knock the tooth out, you will need to keep it alive. If you can’t put the tooth back into place, you will need to use other measures to save it, like this system. It will keep the tooth alive for a short time until you see the dentist.

-Gauze and pain medication: The gauze can help you stop any bleeding you experience in an emergency. Just put it on the area and apply pressure. The pain medication can help you relieve any pain you feel after an injury. It can also help you feel relaxed and comfortable until you receive treatment.
