If you want a top-notch oral health while you are traveling, it’s best to keep up on your oral hygiene routine. However, that’s only possible if you have the tools you need to properly perform the routine. So, to help you pack for your smile, our team recommends putting the following things in your suitcase:

-Travel toothbrush: Travel toothbrushes are very handy, so don’t forget to pack yours. Also, don’t forget to protect your toothbrush with a toothbrush cover while you are traveling. Keeping a cover over the bristles will help keep the germs and bacteria away. It’s also recommended to have a cover that has ventilation characteristics. That way your brush can dry out after you use it.

-Travel toothpaste: Remember that liquids that weigh more than 3.4 ounces are not allowed on the plane, so make sure your toothpaste is travel-sized and it meets the plane weight requirements. If you are not traveling on a plane, you don’t need to worry about this.

-Floss: Make sure you take floss with you. It’s best to floss your teeth at least once a day if you want to keep a pristine smile. Floss is also handy when you have food stuck in your teeth. Instead of worrying about having a food-filled smile on your vacation, just floss your teeth after you eat.

-Mouthwash: Mouthwash is a great tool to have, especially if you want to maintain a fresh and pristine breath. However, you’re only allowed to pack small rinse containers. If you are traveling on a plane, make sure the rinse does not weigh more than 3.4 ounces.

We are more than happy to help you, and Dr. Powell is also happy to show you the proper oral hygiene techniques if you schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience. We look forward to helping you!
